Are you planning to host a game of bingo in Reynoldsburg, Ohio for charity? While that may be a very purposeful event, there are certain requirements you must meet before you can proceed. Here are some of the common requirements you’ll have to comply if you plan to organize a bingo fundraiser:

  1. A Charitable Organization

To conduct a bingo game that won’t be classified as gambling in Ohio, the first rule is to support a charity group. The group must be defined as a charitable organization by Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 2915.8.

  2. License

There are three different types of licenses available for charitable bingo gaming. Type I license lets you operate a traditional bingo game. Type II lets you sell instant bingo tickets at a Type I bingo game. Type III license lets you sell instant bingo tickets at any events other than a Type I bingo game.

  3. Recordkeeping

The state has specific recordkeeping requirements for bingo gaming. For example, the records must be kept for no less than three years. Another example is that you have to pay for your expenses by check.
